Minimizing workplace incidents and events is a priority in every organization; but when they do happen, having a formalized and established approach for comprehensive tracking and corrective action is essential. With the spread of Covid-19 globally, organizations scrambled to establish mechanisms for tracking the impact on its operations and the protection of its employees and contractors. Exposure event tracking and contact tracing quickly became priorities as site teams looked to adjust working environments to ensure operational continuity and worker health and safety.
In collaboration with our Subscriber Community, Covid-19 exposure event tracking capability was developed and enabled in the form of a new Pandemic Exposure Event Form, an extension of Gensuite’s Incident Management platform. This specialized form and integrated workflow allows users to record a pandemic exposure event confidentially, in compliance with HIPPA and GDPR requirements. Exposures can be tracked for employees, contractors, or visitors, allowing you to report on their exposure status, quarantine and test results, and return to work dates. Insights, analytics and data visualizations can be generated through the integrated Tableau® platform and Gensuite® Mapper™ with geographic, heat map perspective on exposure events overlaid with World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) incident data.
The new, mobile-enabled pandemic exposure event tracking capability was launched in early April 2020 after an expedited 3-week development and pilot exercise led by a cross-industry group of subscriber organizations, with continued development of data mining and analytics capabilities throughout April 2020. Organizations can now take advantage of the integrated exposure event follow-up and investigation capabilities core to the Gensuite® Incidents & Measurements™ platform and extend tracking with the Contact Log, an extension of the Pandemic Exposure Event, for documentation of all persons involved in the event, including symptoms, quarantine dates, and return to work date, while continuing to protect personal information.
We would like to thank the Gensuite® Subscriber & Partner Community for their commitment to expediting innovation in response to shared challenges such as the Covid-19 situation and its impact on their operations and the health of their employees and contractors worldwide. The rapid development and deployment of the Pandemic Exposure Event capability is a tremendous illustration of the power and potential of the health and safety community and digital innovation.
